In Garlemald, they are called “Buuttereedner”. Most know him as a silly side act in the Majestic Theater Company. Playing a character known as Juro Loveresse. A mime that would serve a comedic relief for Jenomis Lexentale’s more tragic works. A funny side character that critics would either complement for their simplicity. Or question their relevance to the plot. Garlean interviewers would later remark that Jenomis did not know much about the viera’s background. “He came to me, not speaking a lick of common. It didn’t even seem like he knew how to give me a name, so I came up with one for him. He had an amazing stage presence though. We didn’t need to be able to communicate in order to see that.”When Varis Yae Galvus took the throne, Juro Loveresse was condemned as too risque of a character to the new Garlean Order. And the viera who played the role all but disappeared.According to whispers among the Garlean Consulate, the character of Juro Loveresse never disappeared, and neither did the actor. “--Haha, are you kidding?! He, or she? I don’t know--They, It--I saw it, in one of the alleyways in the Rakuza District. Leaving the hot springs there. It sort of looked as if it were following someone---Crazy right? But I swear to you all. I swear right now. I -saw- them. I saw Juro! I didn’t even know there were Triboulet fans here!”Among the natives of Kugane, Juro is known as Hyottoko, with people who spot them describing them in the same way they’d describe a stock character from their similar stories. “Oh he’s just a silly guy!” A merchant would once laugh with their neighbor, “I don’t know where you get these ideas of Hyottoko murdering and eating people from. You speak of him as if he’s Oni or a Yokai. It’s just a man dressing up in costume. Performing his silly tricks.”Among the criminals however, Juro Loveresse, Hyottoko, Buuttereedner, are all but aliases for a simple business associate. A peddler of exotic goods from various nations and city-states throughout the entirety of Etheirys, with a particular inventory of dangerous and perhaps even cursed wares. He doesn’t ask for much. Plenty would say he’s rather on the cheap side. All he’d ever ask for, is a favor to collect on later. The favors have a wide variance. From a simple meal at the end of the day, or a free drink--to access to an area that would have been previously off limits to them. Though some claim that payment can be on a little bit of the darker side. “She asked me for my blood! I shit you not! Bitch asked me for a pint of my blood!”Whichever the case might be, Juro is -certainly- a character. Building up story after story, tale after tale around itself. Wearing them like a protective cloak. But what is the truth? Who is Juro Loveresse really? And where did their tale begin? That’s a story only Juro knows.
